Adventure International combines the challenge of Mount Kenya's iconic summit with the spectacle of Kenya's finest game reserves in one extraordinary private journey. The experience begins with a comprehensive briefing in Nairobi, climbs through bamboo forest, moorland, and alpine desert to Point Lenana at 4,985m, then transitions to the dramatic landscapes of Samburu Game Reserve before culminating in the legendary ecosystem of the Masai Mara.
Every element is privately arranged — from expert mountain guides and quality mountain camps to private safari vehicles, intimate tented camps, and possible encounters with the Great Migration river crossings.
Arrive in Nairobi
Upon arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you are personally met and transferred to Palacina — a refined residence hotel in Nairobi. A comprehensive briefing and gear check with the Climbs Manager and your guide prepares you for the days ahead.
Sirimon Gate to Old Moses Camp
Transfer past banana and coffee plantations to Nanyuki and the Sirimon Park gate at 2,700m. After a picnic lunch, begin hiking through tropical woodland — occasionally spotting monkeys, buffalo, or elephant — arriving at Old Moses Camp at 3,200m in the early evening.
Old Moses to Likki North Hut
Hike through moorland vegetation with picturesque views of the Sirimon and Mackinder's valleys, arriving at Likki North Hut in the early afternoon. Lunch at camp, followed by an acclimatization walk to prepare for the altitude gains ahead.
Likki North to Shipton's Camp
Climb the steep slope to Shipton's Camp at 4,200m, arriving in time for lunch. Giant groundsels — prehistoric-looking plants unique to Mount Kenya — line the route. An afternoon walk to Kami Hut rewards with dramatic views before dinner and rest ahead of the summit push.
Summit Day: Point Lenana at 4,985m
At 3:00am, the crew wakes the camp with tea and biscuits. Ascend by headlamp through scree and rock to Point Lenana — the highlight of the journey — for a sunrise unlike anything in Africa. Descend to Mackinder's Camp for breakfast, then continue down the vertical bog to the Met Station at 3,050m.
Exit Mountain — Transfer to Samburu
Walk through bamboo forest to the Naro Moru gate and transfer north to Samburu Game Reserve — a landscape of big tabletop mountains, dry acacia riverine forest, and the colorful dress of the Samburu people. Arrive at Saruni Samburu in time to freshen up before dinner.
A Day in Samburu
Spend a full day in this beautiful game park exploring acacia riverine forests and grassland with the Koitogor and Olelokwe mountains as backdrop. Look for Samburu-specific wildlife: Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. Days are typically spent game driving morning and evening, with lunch and siesta in camp.
Charter Flight to the Masai Mara
Transfer to the airstrip for a morning charter flight to the Masai Mara Reserve. Personally met and transferred to your intimate tented camp. After lunch, head out on a game drive in the legendary ecosystem that holds the highest concentration of predators in Africa.
Days in the Masai Mara
Spend several days in this marvelous habitat with high concentrations of resident game — especially the big cats. Game drive toward the Mara River from camp and if the timing aligns, witness the breathtaking wildebeest river crossings of the Great Migration. Mornings and evenings on the plains, midday rest in the shade of your tented camp.
Nairobi & Departure
After breakfast, charter flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. A late lunch at the legendary Carnivore Restaurant marks a fitting farewell before the final transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for international departures.

The Masai Mara & the Great Migration
The Masai Mara ecosystem holds the highest concentration of large mammals on earth. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra fill this extraordinary savannah. The Great Migration river crossings — when a million wildebeest thunder across crocodile-filled rivers — are among the most dramatic wildlife events on the planet.

Samburu: Wild & Remote
Samburu National Reserve sits in Kenya's remote north — a dramatic landscape of big tabletop mountains, dry riverine acacia forest, and the Ewaso Ng'iro River teeming with crocodiles and elephants. The Samburu people in their colorful beaded dress tend cattle across a landscape unchanged for centuries. The reserve is famous for the 'Samburu Special Five': Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich.
